Hope you are enjoying the holiday season!
As for me – I’d underestimated the number of items I’ll want to tackle during my staycation. 😉 I obviously have not finished my East Beach Tee, and I don’t think I will before the year ends. However, I worked on a mindless crochet project over a few days, which really took only a few hours overall – a headband for my sister to keep her fringe off her face when it’s not needed.
I thought I’d make my own knitting pattern like I did for my dad a while back – which, coincidentally, also happened at the end of the year, so maybe I should make it a tradition? But then the Simple Twisted Earwarmer by Rebecca Langford caught my eye – my sis had anyway asked for a band that narrows at the back of the head, and the twist would be something new for my yarny repertoire.
I had to hold the yarn double to get the recommended gauge, and after consulting with my sister, I made fewer rows than in the pattern. After all the ‘normal’ crocheting, I enjoyed adding the simple twist.
Before I sign off, I wish you a Happy New Year! Hope it’s the year of all things crafty. 😉

Very nice!
I see so many gorgeous headband patterns but I can’t wear them, they always slip back off my head or my hair starts sticking out from underneath the band in all directions… they just don’t work for me 😦
At least I can admire them on crafty blogs 🙂

I have the same issue with headbands slipping, and it looks like my sis is experiencing it as well. 😦 She’d planned to use it mostly at home for short bursts of time, so we’re hoping it’ll turn out okay.

I wonder if there are people who can actually wear them 🙄

The little twist is so cute, Anita. I have crocheted a headband a couple years ago. It slips time to time so I am using a small pin to secure it.
I would like to crochet another headband sometime soon xx

Thanks, Ellie! Slipping seems to be a recurring problem with headbands, and securing it with a pin is a great idea. Hope you have a great year of crafting, be it sweaters or headbands. 🙂
