WIP: East Beach Tee

Still knitting this one. I’d thought I would wear it at least once before the year ends, but now I’m not too sure – I have a competing ongoing activity, my art journal project. (Speaking of the year ending, where did 2019 go?)

The good news, though, is that there will be absolutely no yarn shortage in this attempt! (Yay!) I’m about two-thirds done, and am now knitting the longest rows of the project – the ones that run from sleeve to sleeve. I’m eager to get to the shorter rows again, so I hope it drives me to finish the current ones. I know every stitch is an equal amount of progress, but it’s true that the longer rows take ages to knit! πŸ™‚

I completed five projects this year. I have some staycation time planned for the end of the year, so I hope I can complete this one too. (And wear it at least once before the year ends. πŸ™‚ )

How was your yarny year? And what are your plans for 2020?

    1. Definitely a daunting task, but one that I think will be incredibly satisfying when accomplished! (I need to get my art supplies better organized as well, so I don’t reach for the same 5 items every time.)

  1. It looks interesting, looking forward to seeing the finished tee (whenever that happens)!
I have many knitting plans for 2020, and my project queue is ever growing so I’m definitely going to stay busy next year, too!

  2. I fell into a knitting slump, where I didn’t get a lot of knitting done, mostly because I’ve read 152 books to date this year. This was a ready rather than knitty year, I guess.

    1. It’s awesome that you’re such a prolific reader! I’d probably have to read all day, every day to manage 150+ books in a year. πŸ™‚ I’ve read about 30 so far and will probably add one or two to that number by year’s end.

  3. Those were all big projects you finished :). I have done more fibery projects this year than last year or even the year before, so it was a good year. I know you will get it done, you are determined! Will look forward to seeing it blocked :).

    1. Thank you, I think my yearly count is decreasing. πŸ™‚ It’s been wonderful seeing your projects – you did get a lot done this year. Looking forward to your spinning and knitting adventures next year as well. πŸ™‚

  4. I am cheering you on to get your sweater done before the end of the year. It is looking great!

When I think about what I have completed this year….I can’t think of a single thing 😦 No knitting, no cross stitching. What in the heck did I do with my time? I know that I crocheted 48 granny squares over the last couple of months, and I knitted a hat for a gift. I will have to look back and see if I finished anything early in the year. You did great!

    1. Thank you, Ginny! You did have a lot on your plate with the basement redo. I definitely remember a few shawls that you finished, and I love that you’ve learned to crochet awesomely. Hope the Linen & Threads SAL is going on okay – if not this year, it’ll definitely be completed early next year (which I secretly count towards the previous year since that’s when most of the work happened. πŸ˜‰ )

      1. Anita, I did go back over my posts and I think I did finish quite a few projects. I guess it all was a blur with all the basement stuff. I am hoping to finish the Linen & Threads SAL before the end of the year, but it is going to be a push. Those butterflies take quite a bit of time for each one. No matter when it is finished, I will be putting 2019 on it πŸ˜‰ At this time, I am not planning on doing the 2020 one, unless of course I see the starts and fall in love. I do remember my biggest accomplishment for 2019 – That I was able to crochet 48 granny squares and finally understand crochet like I never have before. I am hoping to finish the blanket in 2020.

        1. It’s brilliant that you were pretty crafty this year, Ginny – yes, the granny squares are absolutely beautiful! No matter when you complete L&T 2019, it’ll be a joy to behold, and I’m looking forward to seeing it in its entirety. 2020 looks like it’s a square again, so I think I too will wait for the Jan reveal to decide if I’ll join.
